Brainstorm celebrates the 30th anniversary of the album "Veronika" with a unique concert at the cultural center "Wiktorija" in Liepāja.

“Veronika” is a legendary album by Prāta Vētra, which premiered in 1996. It was the band’s second studio album and was originally released on audiocassette, a format that has since become a sought-after collector’s rarity. In 2004, “Veronika” was reissued on CD (including the concert film “Prāta Vētra par sevi un Reiganiem” as a bonus), and to mark the occasion, Latvia’s first-ever pop-up shop — the “Veronika” shop — was created in Riga at the intersection of Kalpaka Boulevard and Elizabetes Street. There, visitors could not only purchase the album and Veronika souvenirs, but also listen to music and meet the band members. In 2009, “Veronika” was also reissued on vinyl. The album features not only “Veronika’s” most popular song “Lidmašīnas”, but also such time-tested compositions as “Dārznieks,” “Čiekuri,” “Šo dziesmu es dziedāšu Tev,” and “Visi eņģeļi lido,” with which several generations have grown up. “Veronika” is Prāta Vētra’s longest album, containing 17 songs.

Jānis Jubalts: “Whenever I’m asked something about ‘Veronika’, I tell the story of how, once, while taking part in the plate-painting activity at the ‘Bildes’ festival, we made a plate onto which we glued a real cockroach and named it Veronika — after the album’s title song. On the evening of the exhibition’s first day, the cleaner thought it was alive and killed it with a cloth. So as not to scare visitors and staff, we later replaced it with a sticker.”

To prevent ticket resale, tickets are personalized. Upon entry to the event, the ticket holder must present a valid identification document with a first and last name matching the name printed on the ticket.
