Astro'n'out Lion's Share remixes

At the beggining of Summer 2014 Astro’n’out presented their first mini album of remixes “Lion’s Share Remixes”. Seven remixes have been included in this EP – all of them for songs from their last album “Lion’s Share” released just last November.

Originally EP was based on three remixes of well known electronic acts: Bandmaster (DJ Rudd and Andis Ansons) for a song “I’m Ready”, duet TommyU&Tob Luii for “Dive” and Ville Camellia 66 for “Bong”. Rest of the album – four songs, has been created by contestants who took part in the remix contest.

Astro’n’out announced their remix contest on April 22, 2014 with a good feedback of 33 remixes.  Astro’n’out team has now announced the winners: Kasetes with two of their remixes included in the Astro’n’out remix EP, and Kashuks in the second place – also with two remixes included in the EP.

This is the first time for Astro’n’out to officially release remixes. The singer Māra Upmane-Holšteine comments: “Idea about remixes had stuck in our heads for quite a time already. In my private playlist there are a lot of remixes for my favorite artist’s music and there’s an old unrealized dream itching about an Astro’n’out piece really grooving hard on the dance floors in clubs. When Bandmaster suggested to create a remix for “I’m ready” everything clicked together and we asked few other colleagues, Ville Cammelia 66 and TommyU&Tob Luii, to join in the project. Afterwards we decided to go for the contest, so that anyone willing to try to put hand on our music could do it, and it turned out to really bring out some nice surprises. We found great new vibes to our music in the process and I’m sure this EP will become a nice step towards our own different new approach in arranging our music.
