A Day Before Tomorrow is BrainStorm’s 3rd internationally released album produced by Echo award winner Alex Silva (produced Herbert Grönemeyer’s album Mensch and Suede) and Steve Lyon (worked with Depeche Mode, Paradise Lost, The Cure, Paul McCartney and Reamonn) On A.Silva account is production of the two singles - Colder and the title track A Day Before Tomorrow. S.Lyon produced the rest of the songs. Album was mixed by S.Lyon and John Smith (mixed majority of Blur albums)
Making of A Day Before Tomorrow was challenging indeed. From the recording process to photo and video shooting - all the processes in some ways where testing the guys. Just to name few - while recording song Colder in the studio in Denmark by accident keyboards and vocals tracks were erased; while waiting for the string arrangements to be done and sent from Latvia to the studio in Germany band managed to change the songs which meant the process of recording the arrangements had to be started over again and while shooting the video for Colder in Kiev, Ukraine the locations had to be changed due to the problems on getting permissions. Nevertheless those incidents didn’t put BrainStorm guys down: “Contradictions and challenges are what move us forward and don’t allow becoming old and boring. And we all know souls are never old and boring.”
Anton Corbijn did the artwork and photos for the album and singles. He commented on the album: “I think the songs have freshness, innocence and strength. There is this beautiful thing that great bands have something… Identity and I think BrainStorm has that.”
